I Gotta Feeling…

You know how sometimes you just know everything’s gonna be alright? You just sense that everything is falling into place and something good is about to happen at any moment? I have that feeling right now.

People keep asking me “what’s so funny?”, “what are you smiling about?”, and “what are you up to?”. They ask these questions while looking at me so suspiciously. I’m not falling for it this time, though. Because now I know it’s a trick.

Like that time when someone asked me and I smiled even bigger and said I just had a feeling some people would laugh at my last blog post. And she said, “I don’t understand what you write…it must be some kind of bad poetry.”

Or the time when someone asked me and I said I just had a feeling that the people I send secret messages to will find those messages on their own someday. And she said, “I seriously doubt it. Do you know how many websites there are in the world?”

Or when I said I was happy that I was getting more clients and I had a feeling I would soon be even busier. And he said, “Don’t get too excited. Eventually, you’re gonna get hit by this bad economy.”

I guess when my mom used to say she would wipe that smile right off my face, she was talking about something people actually do. All this time…I thought it was just some weird threat that we made fun of behind her back. Nope. Turns out some people really do try to literally wipe the smile right off your face. I guess happiness annoys some people.

But now that I know their evil trick…I have the strategic advantage. I shall keep the reasons for my smiles secret. No, listen…it’s such a brilliant plan! I will still smile. In fact…I will smile even more. And I’ll laugh like an idiot. And I’ll dance and sing around the house. And I’ll run out into the rain. And I’ll wish on stars. And I’ll go to Sonic at midnight to get some ice cream. And I’ll hang out with a few small people who think I’m the coolest thing ever. And I’ll play my music too loud.

It will drive them insane! Oh wait…even better plan! We’ll all do it! Every single one of us! Can you imagine how much that would irritate them? And there’s nothing they can do to stop it! Ha! I gotta feeling it will be THE BEST THING EVER!
